Bloody Hell. This is good stuff. Otherworldly drones on an epic stereo scale, with some truly beautiful moments of Satie-esque piano sequences. I love the percussion in 'Entering the Realm of Dis Pater' - as if the drum is broadcasting from another galaxy. Some soaring Blade Runner synth swells throughout also, but done in such a way that this is a very unique album with influences but ultimately this is 'Idylls' own unique sound and experience. Look forward to checking more out. vuhvoidloves
Dungeon synth king Erang returns with another dazzling LP, this one inspired by childhood “book & record” sets. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 11, 2021
As far as blackened death metal goes over the past five years, there is not a whole lot that can stand toe-to-toe with Aonian Invocation and survive totally unharmed. Comparisons to Behemoth might seem obvious but Agos is better than Behemoth has been in about 15 years; Burial Hordes is a better match. Unspeakably heavy and unfairly dynamic, there is something here for every fan of dark and threatening metal. Ippocalyptica
